UA Celebrates 2014 African-American Heritage Month With Tours, Events
The University of Alabama Crossroads Community Center invites the UA campus and community to participate in events throughout February during African-American History Month. This year’s campus celebration promotes recognition of the contributions of African-American culture to area communities and the nation. It will highlight moments in African-American history and the ongoing impact of the African-American experience.

The University of Alabama Institute for Rural Health Research is seeking nominations for its 2014 Rural Health Heroes Awards. The awards honor rural health care providers and others in Alabama who assist communities in preventing childhood diseases and illnesses.

UA’s Afro American Gospel Choir to Perform in Northport

The Edward K. Aldag, Jr. $50,000 Business Plan Competition, hosted by The University of Alabama’s Culverhouse College of Commerce, will award three students with the winning business plans startup funding and in–kind services.
UA School of Music to Become ‘All Steinway School’
The University of Alabama and piano crafters Steinway & Sons are making beautiful music together. The University’s School of Music is becoming an “All Steinway School,” which will bring the Capstone into some rarefied air. Other “All Steinway” schools include Yale, Julliard, and the Oberlin Conservatory of Music.
