Dr. Richard C. Fording, chair of political science at The University of Alabama, received the Herbert Simon Book Award from the Public Administration Section of the American Political Science Association for his book, Disciplining the Poor.
About 125 students and 25 student leaders from The University of Alabama Honors College will perform service projects from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 17 in in Marion as part of the 57 Miles Project.
Birmingham artist Carolyn Sherer will be bringing her “Family Matters” exhibit to The University of Alabama’s Ferguson Center Art Gallery on Oct. 20. The exhibit will feature 12 images of self-identified LGBTQ youth as well as a narrative that accompanies each photo that details the subject’s perceptions on family acceptance.
