UA’s Fording Wins Book Award
Dr. Richard C. Fording, chair of political science at The University of Alabama, received the Herbert Simon Book Award from the Public Administration Section of the American Political Science Association for his book, Disciplining the Poor.
UA Honors College Students Perform Service Projects in Marion
About 125 students and 25 student leaders from The University of Alabama Honors College will perform service projects from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 17 in in Marion as part of the 57 Miles Project.
Birmingham Artist Brings Exhibit To UA
Birmingham artist Carolyn Sherer will be bringing her “Family Matters” exhibit to The University of Alabama’s Ferguson Center Art Gallery on Oct. 20. The exhibit will feature 12 images of self-identified LGBTQ youth as well as a narrative that accompanies each photo that details the subject’s perceptions on family acceptance.

Katelyn Katsafanas, a senior majoring in finance from Naperville, Illinois, was announced as The University of Alabama’s 2015 Homecoming Queen at the bonfire and pep rally Friday, Oct. 9, on the UA Quad.
