Freedom Riders to Share Accounts at Event Co-Sponsored by UA Groups

Three Freedom Riders will share their personal accounts of challenging racial segregation at 1:30 p.m Sunday, Feb. 7, hosted by the First African Baptist Church, 621 Stillman Blvd. and T.Y. Rogers Avenue. The University of Alabama Crossroads Community Center, Black Student Union, University Programs, Afro American Gospel Choir and the First African Baptist Church are co-sponsoring this event, part of UA’s African American History Month.

A delegation from the Alabama International Relations Club at The University of Alabama recently received awards at the fifth annual Harvard National Model United Nations- Latin America conference in Mexico City.

Dean’s List Students Named for UA Fall 2015 Term

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – A total of 10,626 students enrolled during the 2015 fall semester at The University of Alabama were named to the Dean’s List with an academic record of 3.5 (or above) or the President’s List with an academic record of 4.0 (all A’s). The UA Dean’s and President’s lists recognize full-time undergraduate students.

UA School of Social Work Opens Buford Award Nominations

Nominations are being accepted by The University of Alabama School of Social Work for the 2016 Buford Peace Award. The Peace Award is granted annually to a UA faculty member, whose teaching, research, practice and professional life have demonstrated exceptional levels of involvement in mediating human disputes, helping overcome prejudice, promoting justice and establishing peace.
