The University of Alabama has been recognized as a top producing institution for student Fulbright awards, according to The Chronicle of Higher Education. Eleven of 30 UA applicants received the award during 2015–2016, one of the highest success ratios in the nation.

Each day from Monday, Feb. 29, to Friday, March 4, a different artist who specializes in a particular medium will create a new piece while musician and composer Dr. Andrew Raffo Dewar simultaneously creates new saxophone and electronic music. The work of each of the six Alabama-based artists will inspire the sound that Dewar creates, and in turn their work will be inspired by his music.

More than 100 ceramic bowls will come out of the firing kilns of University of Alabama ceramics instructor Wade MacDonald’s class in the coming week. Colored and glazed, the bowls will be donated to University Presbyterian Church’s “Empty Bowls 2016” fundraiser for the hungry Feb. 26.
