Deborah Johnson Wins 2015 Harper Lee Prize for Legal Fiction

For her work in The Secret of Magic, Deborah Johnson will receive the 2015 Harper Lee Prize for Legal Fiction. The prize, authorized by Lee and co-sponsored by The University of Alabama School of Law and the ABA Journal, is given annually to a book-length work of fiction that best illuminates the role of lawyers in society and their power to effect change.

Dean’s List Students Named for UA Spring 2015 Term

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – A total of 9,073 students enrolled during the 2015 spring semester at The University of Alabama were named to the Dean’s List with an academic record of 3.5 (or above) or the President’s List with an academic record of 4.0 (all A’s). The UA Dean’s and President’s lists recognize full-time undergraduate students.

UA, YMCA, PARA Honor ‘Swim to the Top’ Participants

Program participants, The University of Alabama and local officials celebrate Swim to the Top, a four-week program designed to save lives and improve the health of at-risk children and youth aged 4-to 14-years-old at a luncheon Thursday, June 25, at 11:30 a.m. at the Benjamin Barnes Branch YMCA.

The Board of Trustees of The University of Alabama System has named Dr. Stuart R. Bell president of The University of Alabama. The appointment will be effective July 15.
