UA’s Beat Auburn, Beat Hunger Food Drive Ready to Roll

The University of Alabama Community Service Center launches the 21st annual Beat Auburn Beat Hunger food drive today from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., with a kickoff event at UA’s Ferguson Plaza. The food drive, which benefits the West Alabama Food Bank, continues through Friday, Nov. 21.

UA to Compete Against Texas A&M in Bone Marrow Registry Drive

The University of Alabama’s Be The Match On Campus student organization will hold a drive to add student names to the bone marrow registry and provide hope for blood cancer patients from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 14, and Wednesday, Oct. 15, in the Ferguson Theatre. The drive, which is part of Be The Match’s first Cheek Week challenge, is being held in competition with the Texas A&M University chapter of Be The Match on Campus.

About 50 freshmen and 10 student leaders from The University of Alabama will perform service projects in Marion from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 4. The projects include cleaning storefronts, landscaping around the town square and removing trash from empty buildings.

UA Sales Program Hosts Career Fair to Connect Students with Employers

The University of Alabama Sales Program will host a sales and marketing career fair from noon to 4 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 8, in the Ferguson Center’s third floor ballroom. “Connect 2014” will feature recruiters representing more than 35 companies — including Belk, AT&T and Frito-Lay — that are hiring for full time jobs and internships.
