UA Announces 2014 Premier Awards for Scholarship, Leadership

Recipients of the 2014 Premier Awards – the top individual honors for scholarship, leadership and service at The University of Alabama – were announced at a recent presentation dinner. The 2014 UA Premier Award recipients will also be recognized at UA during Honors Week.

UA Students Aid Community in Hands on Tuscaloosa

More than 300 University of Alabama students are expected to perform service projects with 13 nonprofit organizations as part of Hands on Tuscaloosa from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, March 8.

The University of Alabama Graduate School has announced the recipients of the 2014 Outstanding Graduate Student awards. The awards will be presented during UA Honors Week, scheduled for Monday, March 31, to Friday, April 4.

The University of Alabama’s Honors College will present screenings of the documentary films “Da Vinci” and “Pablo’s Winter” in memory of Dr. Will Nolan, a UA assistant professor, who died in 2012.

UA Fraternity to Host Blood Drive

The Delta Sigma Pi fraternity at The University of Alabama asks students, faculty and the Tuscaloosa community to participate in a blood drive from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday, March 5, at the Life South Bloodmobile, which will be parked on the north side of the UA Quad.

The University of Alabama’s Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity is sponsoring a “Be the Match on Campus” bone-marrow registration drive from 2 to 6 p.m. Friday, Feb. 21, at the fraternity house, 202 University Blvd. on campus.

UA Club Hosts Model UN for High Schools

About 150 high school students from 10 high schools in Alabama, Georgia and Tennessee will participate in the sixth Alabama Model United Nations Conference from Friday, Feb. 21, to Sunday, Feb. 23, at The University of Alabama.
