UA Hosts History Conference on Connections Between South and Latin America
The University of Alabama’s history department is hosting a daylong conference Monday, March 27, that will highlight the transnational connections between the U.S. South and Latin America in the 19th century. The conference is titled “Dreams of Dominion: The U.S. South and Latin America.”
Social Ethicist and Scholar of Religions to Deliver 2017 Realizing the Dream Lecture
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Dr. Jonathan L. Walton, a social ethicist and scholar of religions, has been selected as the 2017 Realizing the Dream distinguished lecturer. He will give his Realizing the Dream lecture at 7 p.m. March 23 in the Embassy Suites Ballroom. It’s free and open to the public.

UA Announces 2017 Premier Awards
The University of Alabama Division of Student Life has announced the recipients of the 2017 Premier Awards – the top individual honors for scholarship, leadership and service.
The 2017 UA Premier Award recipients will be recognized at a dinner Thursday, March 23, as well as during Honors Week.

The week of March 20-26 the UA Student Government Association is collaborating with more than a dozen other campus partners to present Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Week. With over 37,000 students, The University of Alabama is home to a variety of different cultures and identities. These individual perspectives come together to shape the UA campus as a whole.
