The crew of the USS Alabama submarine stationed in Bangor, Washington, gave a shout out to The University of Alabama on Wednesday, December 17, 2014 ahead of its change-of-command ceremony on Friday, December 19. The USS Alabama is the same ship featured in the 1995 movie “Crimson Tide.”

Allison Gabriel is a student at Shelton State Community College in Tuscaloosa. Her journey began at The University of Alabama’s Rise program. The research taking place at Rise influences early childhood education for children with and without special needs. Since 1974, more than 10,000 children have taken part in this environment of inclusion and acceptance.
The University of Alabama’s Sorority Fall Formal Recruitment begins on Friday, August 8. UA Panhellenic President, Hannah McBrayer, has been preparing for the largest sorority recruitment in the nation for the past year.
UA’S Institute for Communication and Information Research, located in Reese Phifer Hall, will host a free nutrition camp for children who have finished kindergarten through fifth grade.
