Free child nutrition camp at the University of Alabama
CBS 42 (Birmingham) – July 10
Healthy eating habits need to start early and next week the University of Alabama will host a free camp on child nutrition. Children will learn how to read nutrition labels, play games and use a child-friendly app to track snacking. Even if they aren’t doing the grocery shopping, children can still be proactive. “It’s in no way a diet camp. Kids should not be feeling pressure to lose weight or anything like that,” said Lindsey Conlin. “We just want them to be able to, in the future, make healthy choices.” The camp runs from July 14 through July 17. It’s open to children in first through fifth grade. To register, contact Kim Bissell at kbissell@ua.edu or call (205) 348-8247.
