Middle school students decide to stop cussing

…The students at Lott Middle School in Mobile County are organizing a no cussing day, and now students at another middle school in the area are joining them. We spoke with a child psychology expert at the University of Alabama who says using bad language can lead to aggression, and he says there’s a reason that adolescents resort to using those bad words: “They’re doing it on purpose. They’re trying to enhance their stature in the eyes of others,” said Dr. John Lochman.

Air Force ROTC takes to the water

Air Force ROTC held a Group Leadership Project Thursday at the Aquatic Center that focused on building relationships and working together as cadets…Francisco Paulino, AFROTC communication officer, said that the prize for winning the event is points toward the Warrior Flight Award. “The award will be presented at the end of this semester to the flight who earns the most points all semester,” Paulino said. He said that the idea for the event came from Wing Commander Kristin Wolfe after she saw the event done by another ROTC program on Facebook…
