Benefit concert for Haiti held on UA campus
WVUA (Tuscaloosa) – Feb. 1
A Haiti relief benefit concert was held in Morgan auditorium, a $3 donation was taken at the door. Concertgoers also donated clothing and other everyday items to help Haitians get back on their feet 

UA Early College to be discussed
Gadsden Times – Feb. 1
The new University of Alabama initiative, UA Early College, will be discussed Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. in a meeting at the Guntersville High School auditorium. The public is invited. UA Early College is designed for high school students who have a 3.0 cumulative or higher GPA and are prepared for a college level of study. Students can earn up to 30 hours of online college credit through general education courses. Students do not have to leave campus to participate in UA Early College, although a summer on-campus experience is offered. Students who complete 18 hours with a 2.5 GPA or higher are eligible for automatic UA admission..
