Press box named after “Pat” Faucett
Tuscaloosa News – April 2

The press box at the Alabama Softball Complex was named after Eugenia Patton “Pat” Faucett in a ceremony Wednesday. Faucett, who die in April 2006, began her career at the University of Alabama in 1971 and worked for more than 25 years in the office of academic affairs, the president’s office and the College of Arts and Sciences. “Pat was quite a dedicated employee of this university,” former UA President Roger Sayers said in a press release. “She was extremely capable, very well-organized, and very precise in her work. It’s appropriate that her name is now associated with women’s softball. Pat strived for excellence in every way, just like our women’s softball program.” The naming of the press box in Faucett’s memory was made possible by a gift to the Crimson Tide Foundation from the Community Foundation of West Alabama, a major benefactor of Faucett’s estate.
